How to Carve Clay

Ingleton Pottery shows us how to Carve Clay. He Carves & pierces a flower design into a clay pottery bowl which he had thrown on the wheel. You can use basically anything to carve clay, he is using a sharpened tool made from a hack saw blade. Simply cut the clay to leave holes to form the pattern.

Another really effective but simple pottery design tip is shown in the next video.
By  using some basic circular punches, and drills, a nice design can be cut out of a pot really easily.
It’s so easy to do and you can do any pattern you want by just cutting or punching out the clay on the pot.
This will make a nice candle holder as the light will be seen through the holes.
Give it a try it’s really simple to do.
