Recommended firing range 1080-1230C.
Indicative texture 3-4 (Smooth 1-Coarse 10).
Reformulation: Previous Keuper users should test before use.
Contains around 7% of a -40’s mesh buff sand. Superb body for tiles, slab work, large pieces and murals alike.
High resilience and good warp resistence, yet the relatively smooth texture allows detail to be captured.
This body takes on a deep red tone above 1200C.
Exercise caution when firing above Cone 6 or if reduction-firing, as the high oxide content makes this body prone to bloating.
