Our “Café Colors High Fire” are our brightest colors which can be dipped into clear glaze without having to fire the color first.PRODUCT USE GUIDEUSAGEThe Café Colors are the most spectacular range of bright colored glazes that we manufacture and are available in three series; two low fire versions that are satin or glossy at Cone 06 (999°C) and Cone 04 (1,060°C) and a high fire version. All are for decoration of bisque and they can be used either like an underglaze where 3 coats are applied to achieve full coverage or they can be used for detailed design with a translucent effect similar to One Strokes. The distinct advantage of Café Colors is that they can be dipped into a clear glaze without having to first fire the color. The Gloss range may be identified by use of a “G” suffixed to the product code and the High Fire range may be identified by use of a “H” suffixed to the product code.APPLICATIONCafé Colors are applied with an appropriate sized soft-bristled brush for detailed work. If a larger area is being covered, a generous sized brush will minimise streakiness and allow a most even application. Café Colors are also suitable for sponging and stippling.Café Colors in a single coat application are essentially transparent; however opacity may be achieved by the application of 2 or 3 generous coats, in a cross-hatch manner.Café Colors are designed for use directly from the bottle, although they may be sprayed or sponged. Clean water may be added to achieve alternate finishes or to adjust consistency for spraying.PHYSICAL DATAThe high fire version is for application to middle fire bisque and then glaze fire to between cone 4 (1,186°C) and cone 8 (1,263°C) or cone 4 (1,186°C) to cone 10 (1,305°C) (dependent on SKU) using a suitable glaze.
