Located in the remote tropical mountain jungle, Mauser Ecohouse creates a unique tranquil, inspirational, health-conscious, and community-minded living experience for the artists. The Mauser EcoHouse is situated in the beautiful rural Central Pacific region of Costa Rica on a 3 acre plot concealed in the lush jungle mountains. About 123km (about a 3-hour drive) from the capital city, San Jose, the Mauser EcoHouse is considered home to the artists that reside in it. The home has indoor or outdoor shared studio spaces with serene tropical surroundings. Individual or group projects can flourish in a beautiful haven alongside native Costa Rican jungle plants, flowers, animals, insects, and hundreds of birds.
The Mauser Foundation offers residencies for a period of one month or more year-round for visual, performance, and literary artists. We encourage artists with a concentration in other fields to apply, as acceptance into the program will be judged on an individual basis.
