This was my second coiled vase with appliquéd and incised design. I wanted something that represented a favourite spot in my garden. I learned a lot… that compression is absolutely crucial to stop the coils separating and that underglaze colours really can burn out in the kiln if you apply them too delicately… which was a shame as I really liked the blush effect. Nevertheless it was much admired and sparked my first commission piece.
