Happy New Year to everyone. At this time I still have my holidays and enjoying to play with the clay. It quiets me to build tubes, organ pipes, chimneys or other simple forms. I like their rhythm and height. And they often have a clear line. As the one in the garden. Its about 70 centimeters. Sometimes I start with al simple drawing. And then I start on the wheel for a solid bottom. When the pot is a bit firm I start building. The recent one is 55 cm. Because I use a 25% chamotte clay its very good for building. There is no need for support. I go slowly and focused, like meditation. 😉

I love these! I’m not familiar with chamotte clay but you can see it has that lovely gritty texture.

Thank you, Margerit 😊

these are beautiful! The piece with 3 bits sticking up looks like a plant. Is chamotte the same as crank?

It’s little stones.

interesting! It looks great to work with! Do you leave it unglazed?

First I try to use a slib for experiment. And then I glaze. But I am not sure. It is an experiment always. I like the surprise.

Fascinating form. Do the different tubes make different sounds when tapped?
-
Sometimes when the wind blows hard. You hear a noise.
