What I Love about Ceramics |
The possibilities are endless
|
How I started with ceramics |
I did an art degree after early retirement and gravitated towards ceramics . I feel at home with my hands in mud.
|
What inspires me |
Reflections, shadows, silhouettes anything really I just don’t know when inspiration may strike .
|
What I'm working on at the moment |
With a departure from my usual work I am working on a garden gnome for a Christmas present for my uncle . He will be wearing an old fashioned scout outfit the gnome not my uncle but you never know !
|
My Artist Statement |
For some time now I have been mistreating Clay by laminating different stoneware bodies together to make a slab, then after adding different coloured slips stretching the slab before making my piece .Before stretching I blast the top surface with a heat gun and then when I roll it out the surface cracks . The piece is then made from the resulting patterned clay slab.
