| Introduction |
Hello! I’m Anna, I am a ceramic artist based in Boulder, Colorado and I love to weave clay vessels that cultivate connection. My work centers around gathering spaces and ranges from large scale installations to intimately scaled woven clay work. I research and develop fiber clay bodies.

| What I Love about Ceramics |
I love everything about ceramics! The community, the material possibilities, knowing its limits and how to push against them, endless processes and forms, dynamic textures, and experimental surface treatments.
|
| How I started with ceramics |
In my high school sculpture class, we worked in wood, plaster and when we reached ceramics a fire went off within me. From that moment on I fell deeply in love with clay and have been creating with ceramics ever since.

| What inspires me |
Empathy and human connection. Gathering spaces, courtyards, and gardens. Architectural design elements and vessels. Warm and bright colors.
|
| What I'm working on at the moment |
I am currently working on a woven architectural screen and furthering developing my fiber clay research.

| My Artist Statement |
Stemming from family traditions of weaving, gardening, and jerry-rigging, my work centers around gathering spaces and the domestic objects that cultivate connection. The home is a space that contains daily rituals and fosters connection. From baskets to chairs to screens, I look to domestic structures that celebrate the moments that bring people together. I am interested in the ways woven vessels draw a parallel between the strength of fiber clay and bonds of empathetic connection.
