About Me
Introduction | My name is Patty Collins Lewis, and I am from East Tennessee, US. I make mostly functional ware with stoneware clay and fire to cone 6 in an electric kiln. I was a licensed architect until I had my children, and decided to stay home. I simply like to make things. I love to find antique items and refurbish or repurpose them, gardening, and especially all things clay, although I’ve never tried slip casting. I’m interested in learning how to bring my love of architecture, gardening, and design to my clay work. |
What I Love about Ceramics | That’s easy. Everything. |
How I started with ceramics | In 1999 a friend suggested we take a community class, and I was hooked. |
What inspires me | Hmmmm. I don’t know how to describe this. |
What I'm working on at the moment | Wheel thrown, altered, sgraffito, cut out, vessels with colored slip. |
