About Me
| Introduction | I’m Troy Allen…and I have been a woodworker, painter, tinkerer all of my life. I come from an artistic family and my grandfather started me in woodworking when I was about 8 years old. I love making things with anything I can get my hands on, and pottery is one thing that eluded me until now. |
| What I Love about Ceramics | The level of creativity that comes with pottery is endless, therefore I want to delve into it completely. I have a lot to learn, but I also have a lot of time to do so. |
| How I started with ceramics | My wife’s aunt got into pottery years ago, and has a studio near me. She has asked me to learn and participate in her journey to building a business and an outlet for our creativity. |
| What inspires me | Color, shape, the moment the kiln is opened and the dazzling pieces come to life. |
| What I'm working on at the moment | Setting up a pottery studio physically. All the nuts and bolts have been delivered, now to set it up and start playing. |
| My CV | My career highlights are in my past life, as an auto dealer and employer. In my spare time I would get into overalls and start the tractor and I built a 22 acre sheep farm, with barns and such, starting with bare forest. Now, I have always had a wood shop but nowhere to place a kiln. With the opportunities I have now, with a full ceramic shop at my disposal, I am starting on that creative journey. |
