About Me
| Introduction | I’m Marjie. I live primarily in Oakland, California and some of the time in Salem, Mass. Although I have been making and puttering my whole life with things, I came to art and ceramics in my 60’s. I love it! |
| What I Love about Ceramics | I love everything about it. The making, learning new things, keeping the studio functioning, selling to a friendly public. Everything. |
| How I started with ceramics | I started at a local community studio with one class a week with no other opportunity to practice, So I then found another studio with 24/7 access. I needed the time to practice and became better and better over time. Still learning, of course. |
| What inspires me | Other potters work. Beautiful and graceful form, energetic surface design, and minimal surface design. |
| What I'm working on at the moment | I’m transitioning from high fire in a gas kiln to mid fire in an electric kiln. It’s been a hard transition especially in regards to glazing. |
