My Ceramics

In the studio I like to do	Handbuilding, Sculpting

Clay body	Earthenware
Clay Brand	recycled
Kiln Type	Electric Kiln, Raku Kiln
Glaze	I love glazes that break over texture and also the waxy glazes.

Introduction	Born and raised in California. I enjoy small artworks. I’m not so good at throwing so I end up carving my pots. I also like handbuilding. I am a printmaker as well and look forward to combining the two.
What I Love about Ceramics	I like using my hands and squishing the clay and seeing what it wants to become. The mystery of glazes and the first look when you open the kiln. I like functional art.
How I started with ceramics	Like most kids, I started with playdoh but it didn’t last. It either crumbled or the dog ate it.
What I'm working on at the moment	taxes!
My Artist Statement	No artist statement yet other than I let the medium tell me what it wants… clay sometimes does what it wants as I don’t have the strength to argue with it.
My CV	I completed my AA Fine arts this December 2020. I have won awards for my printmaking and photography, but haven’t made anything exceptional from clay yet.
