I think it’s hard because often someone will ask what seems like a simple question, but really it would take a lot of work to answer it. Like, a common question thing is “tell me a glaze recipe that will work perfectly for me” but there are so many variables involved, the real answer is “find a recipe/buy a glaze you like the look of and test it and see how it looks on your clay and in your firing schedule”. 

No one else can tell you if a glaze will work for you. But that answer is not satisfying for asker or answerer so no one says anything.
