Step-by-step:

  1. Roll Out the Clay: Start by rolling out your air-dry clay until it’s about ¼ inch thick. Make sure it’s even and smooth for the best results.
  2. Cut the Flower Shape: Use a flower-shaped template or cookie cutter to cut out the shape of your dish. If you don’t have a cutter, you can draw a simple flower shape on paper and trace it onto the clay.
  3. Shape the Dish: Place your flower cutout into a shallow bowl to give it a nice curved shape. Let it sit and dry for a few hours, so it starts to hold its form.
  4. Add Legs: While your flower is drying, roll small balls of clay for the legs. Once the dish is firm but not fully dry, attach the legs to the bottom of the dish using the slip and score method to help them stick.
  5. Dry Completely: Let your dish finish drying completely, about 24-48 hours, depending on the clay.
  6. Paint and Finish: Once your dish is fully dry, get creative and paint it with fun colors. You can seal it with a clear varnish if you want it to be shiny!
