Hello Everyone,
I’m new to pottery and just started about a month ago with wheel throwing and hand building. As I’m learning on my own through YouTube, and online. Can someone please suggest me a beginners book where I can read and learn about firing and glazing. I’m planning to get myself a gas klin maybe, if I get confident enough. 😊
Mari-
The most helpful YouTube people for me have been, Simon Leach, Steve Booton, and Hsinchuen Lin, in that order for cone 10 gas kilns, glaze and firing.
As for books, any of John Britt’s books are very good, and The Kiln Book by Fredrick Olsen.

I have a smoker grill . It is shaped similar as a bullet(much bigger though! ) and I would like to convert it into a raku kiln. I am thinking i could wrap it in fiber fire cloth. Or try it without, with the propane tank which is 5 gallon. Anyone here ever try anything like this?
