Hi everyone, have you seen our Recipes/Ingredients section of the directory? This is where we will be adding all of our different ceramic glazes and clays, and you can add your own glaze recipes etc. You can then tag the glazes/materials you use in your pottery notes to keep track of them!

Hello,
I’m trying to mat a mat blue similar to an Yves Kline blue glaze. I fine all the ones I’ve tried to come out dull. I’d love any ideas anyone has.

Hey everyone! Has anyone used Chrysanthos underglazes? If so, how do they compare to Mayco or other underglazes? Are there any others ou prefer?
-
They’re fine but not as pigmented as say Amaco velvets.

Anyone here work with Lusters? I just fired some and the surface isn’t great. Some spots even came off, so i re-applied and fired again but they still aren’t quite as nice as i’d like them. Thoughts, suggestions appreciated.

Hello my artist friends! I recently found some dried out 4 oz. Duncan glazes in my storage unit. How do I bring them back to life? I’m getting back to working with clay and don’t want to spend a lot of cash on new jars. I bought these for a class in 2017. Any suggestions? Any help appreciated.

I would suggest that you crush up the dried glaze before rehydrating it. Some glazes tend to settle so just adding water might not work as well. Rehydrating dried glazes I would also put them through a sieve again.

Hi all. I’ve been a potter for over 20 years but only found glazy.org about 5 years ago. It’s been most helpful on my own quest to make glazes. Sooooo many recipes!!!

Hi Rebecca.🖐 I am still a newbie. Have been playing with clay for 2,5 years and loved every minute of it. Since glazes are expensive I did start making my glazes (from recipes from glazy.org) about 6 months ago and that is also much fun, although it can also get pretty frustrating since here in Iceland there’s a narrow supply of ingredients in… Read more
