Featured Artist Fridays: Daniel Dooreck

Cowboy Potatoes

Daniel Dooreck is a rising artist in the world of ceramics, garnering a significant following on Instagram with over 34.6k followers in a short period of time. In fact, Dooreck established his pottery business, Danny D’s Mud Shop, in early 2022.

From his garage in Echo Park, Los Angeles, he creates one-of-a-kind pottery pieces that draw inspiration from the people and artists in his community. His shop features unique, hand-carved pieces inspired by motorcycle culture and tattoo art from artists such as Zach Pruitt, Stella, and Jonathan Swift.

Originally from California, Dooreck recently relocated to Los Angeles after spending nearly a decade in Canada. Before embarking on his ceramics career, he enjoyed a successful stint in the restaurant industry. In order to de-stress after long days at the restaurant, Dooreck decided to take a wheel class and hasn’t looked back since.

While he enjoys experimenting with playful designs, Dooreck remains committed to producing technically sound and aesthetically pleasing vessels. His dedication to the craft is evident in his pottery’s unique and captivating style. With the quick success he’s found in the past year, Dooreck is poised to make a significant impact in the ceramics industry.
