Hi, my name is Paula Murray, and in this workshop, I will be talking about how I find meaning through process and demonstrating my approach to slip casting porcelain. Over many years of trial and error I have developed a process that incorporates surface-veil fiberglass in ways that creates movement in my forms. I look forward to sharing how I work with this expressive vocabulary in my practice.

Born in Ottawa, Murray studied science at the University of Ottawa and ceramics at Sheridan College. Living and working on the shores of Meech Lake, QC since 1980, her studio practice has been inspired by several years living on the water sailing with her young family and her discovery of the Baha’i Faith. Elected into the International Academy of Ceramics in 2017, her work is exhibited internationally and can be found in public and museum collections in Italy, Korea, China, Taiwan, Romania and Canada.
