Philippa operates from her rural studio Frog in a Sock on the Mid North Coast of NSW. She produces diverse work with a focus on the natural world, particularly the world of bugs, Australian fauna and native plants. Philippa has recently won a number of local awards in ceramics and is an active member of the Mid North Coast Arts Community.
Philippa was born and studied in the UK. She was heavily influenced by a whimsical pottery in Scotland and her father who was also a potter. It was in her father’s studio where Philippa learnt her basic skills, particularly in hand building and sculpture. However, it has only been in the last five years that she was able to develop her passion. More recently, Philippa was influenced by Eiair, which inspired some of her small bug sculptures. These sculptures were part of a large body of work, which was exhibited at Gloucester Art Gallery in 2021.
