I am an artisan, an artist and I graduated as a Licenciado en Administración de Empresas por la Universidad de Especialidades, UNE.
In this cultural environment, he knows me as Jaime Vázquez, from the age of 12 he has been in contact with this technique called barro bruñido, since in this environment I am the fourth generation, my grandfather Salvador Vázquez Carmona and my father Arnulfo Vázquez taught me all the secrets of this work, in the workshop I learned from the most basic to what is the main process of this work which is the decoration, this wonderful office, which has been around for more than 500 years, since before the Spanish conquest ya se realizaba dicha técnica. Teniendo como resultado, collectible pieces and exclusive use of decoration, unique with an original style and seal of the artist.
The style of decoration used has been preserved in a traditional style, with detailed and detailed finishing, thin lines, use of colorful styles, the handling of many colors makes the work impact on the eye, the handling of dark colors is the estilo que se manje, se trabaja desde piezas con estilos y acabados sencillos, hasta el trabajo especial y acabados finos.
The technique is very old since it dates back to before the conquest, its processes continue in the same way, and this work is called the mother technique, because it is the pioneer and the first to be realized, because this work is broken down otras tecniques más que con el tiempo se commenzaron hacer, piezas totally y 100% hechas mano.
The decoration is the main basis of the work since colors are used based on earth and kaolins that adhere to our barro, taking the result that compacts when decorating, with traditional brushes made from the hair of a dog, cat, fox y ardilla.
The shine with which it has, is a natural shine that we obtain in the piece, we make it by cutting it with a mineral called “pyrite” and with the fusion of water, we achieve that impeccable shine in the line and in all the body of the piece.
