I put my small kiln on yesterday to fire a bisque load. When I went in to do a check during the last few hours of the firing I noticed, thru the peep hole, that it wasn’t as bright as it should and then saw the plunger had fallen which turned off the elements. I have a manual kiln sitter. I felt it was a bit soon to happen but because there wasn’t enough light I couldn’t see the if the witness cones had bent. I waited until today to open the lid. None of the witness cones were down. I removed a shelf to check the cone in the sitter and it had bent ever so slightly. I believe the plate in the plunger has moved making it fall prematurely. The witness cones are cone 06-03. The cone in the sitter is Cone 04.

My questions are: Can I refire this load? If so, Do I need to put fresh cones in as only the cone 06 showed a slight bend and change in colour? Would it be ok to bring the temperature up quickly?

I hope to get an answer very soon
