• First part of my project for breaking boundaries is to utilize multiple low cone firings in efforts to achieve unique effects to glazes. This first test is a stab at “filigree effect” glaze, or a spider web pattern using two texturally very different glazes layered on multiple low heat firings before a final higher heat glaze firing for a final melt. So far so good! Here’s what the following pictures show:

lichen matte fired to 04 with lichen matte fired to 04

lichen matte fired to 04 with moss matte fired to 04

lichen matte fired to 04 with celadon fired to 04

moss matte fired to 04 with lichen matte fired to 04

some of these will go right into final glaze firing (cone 4.) some will get another dip before final glaze firing cone 4. Results next week
