Hello Joshua,
Thank you so much for this amazing Congress! It was very addictive, I ended up taking my iPad with me on a boat ride so I wouldn’t miss anything! Now seriously, as a long-time NCECA attendee, I always struggle to find a balance between socializing, networking and attending the events and it is so refreshing to know you can go back later and watch things that you missed, and, be able to do it FOREVER!
A few comments:
CONTENT:
I loved the diversity, the caliber of the presenters. It is so great to be able to get to know new artists and be introduced to work from all over the world.
I loved the format of demos with time-lapse. You can pack so much info in one hour!!
I really loved Brenda Quinn’s handout. She shared it through a link it on the chat. That got many of the technical questions out of the way and opened up more time to talk about the work itself. I wish all presenters provided a short handout with the material’s source, recipes, etc.
I felt that on a few Q&A sessions the moderators were not able to address almost any of the questions on the chat or bring people into the conversation. Naomi on the other hand was a great moderator and was able to balance some of the more technical questions from the chat with questions about the work, inspiration, etc.
TECHNICAL STUFF:
It seems like it was not very easy to figure out how to unmute oneself…
Some participants complained about not having sound. That happened to me on my iPhone. I corrected the issue by pressing the volume button…
I did not receive a Balloon link prior to the Congress and I missed the first two hours until I figured out that if I downloaded the app that would be all I needed.
Thank you again for all the hard work. In this pandemic year, we felt apart and isolated in so many ways. It was incredible to feel that connection with so many wonderful people.
Cheers,
Renata
