About Me

Introduction

My name is Emily, I am a ceramic and arts educator in Texas. I make ceramic sculptures and mixed media ceramics. I am interested in literally anything honestly.

What I Love about Ceramics

I love that clay allows me to make literally anything when it comes to sculpture, even when combining it with other media. I also enjoy the challenges that come with sculpting and working with clay. Figuring out the minute details of movements of the body and how they can affect and manipulate clay is fascinating to me.

How I started with ceramics

I took my first ceramics class in undergrad to avoid a sculpture professor honestly. I ended up taking more classes to the point that I got my MFA with a focus in ceramics so I could teach it at the college level.
