| Introduction |
Chase Cranor here.
I run Down the Road Clayworks where I make a variety of functional and sculptural ceramic pieces.
In addition to ceramics I also enjoy illustration, animation, and writing/performing music.

| My Artist Statement |
My work is driven by the principles of practical function, technical precision, and fantastical expression.
I make pieces with unique, some might say bizarre, qualities such as tentacles for handles, peeping eyes, and sometimes hidden teeth.
I embrace my Celtic heritage and employ the symbols and carving techniques once used by ancient Celts to adorn historic standing stones and illuminated manuscripts, only I use the techniques on leather hard pottery instead of rocks or paper to create intricate unbroken knotwork patterns.
