About Me

Introduction

Centred Clay Studios is a guild-style, membership-based studio located in Calgary, Alberta.
We offer a collaborative, supportive home studio/working studio to 70+ potters presently, with a capacity of 105 members.

We have four instructors, Ashley and Julie, who are the owners, Kari Curtis, our hand-building expert, and Tracey Martell, our surface dec guru.

Ashley is an exhibiting ceramicist with work at Jonathan Bankcroft Gallery in London ON. Julie is a working potter, with work available on line and at local retailers; Kari and Tracy both sell online and in numerous markets in Calgary and area.

What I Love about Ceramics

The endless possibilities, the opportunities for our members to discover their creativity, and the numerous benefits a collaborative studio offers our members – home studio, community, the opportunities to detach from busy day-to-day, and that indescribable thing that happens on the wheel, where one can disengage for a while from whatever is going on outside the studio.

We particularly love it when our members have those “Wow” moments, whether they learn a new technique or that magical moment when they see their work emerging from the kilns.

What inspires me

Our members. Every single day, we come to the studio and find some wonderful work.

What I'm working on at the moment

Growing our membership, and grounding our mission – to create an exceptional, creative, supportive community.
