How I started with ceramics

I offered my woodworking shop about 13 years ago for a ceramic studio for two weeks, I was hooked.

My Artist Statement

I observe the natural world with an eye of an explorer. Living in Alaska, the wilderness is out my studio door, I regular pay attention not to run into an onery moose on the way to studio. I am always paying attention to the seasonal change in our plants and movements of our local animals, as well as the sunlight and shadow change is drastics at latitude 59. These seasonal changes are part of what and when I harvest. We live close to the land as hunters, gathers, and small scale farmers, this is what inspires my creative process in ceramics; be it form or decorative elements.
