Introduction
- My name is Heike. I’m a qualified textile and ceramic designer/maker and the founder of Memory Box Design, specialising in contemporary handmade ceramics for home and entertaining. I’m from Sydney’s creative Inner West (Gadigal land). I’m interested in expressions of material culture and meaningful connection to objects.

What I Love about Ceramics
Clays squidgyness! The way is breaks, leaving cracks and creases. That the medium turns from fluid to solid, capturing the essence of the material to create form and expression. I love the continual process of learning and understanding. There’s always more to know!

How I started with ceramics
I started ceramics at school and came back to it 20 odd years later, completing an honours degree in ceramic and textiles in 2019.
