About Me
| Introduction | Hi, I’m Lala. I’m from Oklahoma (USA). I am becoming a potter. I love functional pottery (plates, saucers, cups, bowls, casserole dishes, spoons) with a little quirkiness added to each piece. I’m interested in learning: your backstory, passions both in pottery and aside from pottery, how to build basic pottery skills, developing my own style, then over time, marketing pottery, starting a backyard pottery business from my house, finding partnerships with small pottery/artisans in Senegal or on the African continent to develop pottery lines, teach together, and build community together.

| What I Love about Ceramics | For 17 years, I have purchased pottery and wall art from small artisans as I traveled. I love knowing that each potter put love and attention into each piece. I love how each piece comes to life differently. I have loved hearing the stories of the potters. |
| How I started with ceramics | In July 2024, I started traveling with a group for 1 year. I decided to lean into what I enjoy vice just doing what everyone else was doing. I started taking 1 pottery class a month–after 6 months, I decided I wanted to travel slower, so maybe 2 months in 1 country AND take intensive pottery classes while I traveled. So, here I am…I AM becoming the potter. |
| What inspires me | Backstories of each potter and her/his pottery. How each piece comes to light differently. How cool it is that each potter has her/his own style. Seeing the pottery in use. |
| What I'm working on at the moment | Just learning the basics at potter’s studios. I am currently in a studio in Danang, Vietnam. |
