      Jess,

It’s nice to meet you! Thanks for requesting a connection. I have been a potter for about 12 years now, and feel fortunate to have my own studio at home to work from. I enjoy working with slab (i notice you have a wheel that you use for throwing), because I don’t have room for it in my studio with the large slab roller I have in my studio. I also am learning a lot about working with clay from handbuilding that I might not otherwise be able to throwing from the wheel. How long have you been working with clay and what do you enjoy making? What are some of your best (most successful in your mind) creations? Do you market them right now with COVID in full swing in America, or are you building inventory only? What tips (if you have any to share) would you offer for those who are marketing online as their primary market? Lot of questions! Sorry, I enjoy meeting others who work with clay and hope we can connect in the near future!

      • Hello, thanks for reaching out to make a connection. I got your DM as well. : ) I am a full time ceramics teacher, going into my 17th year. I do a lot of throwing/handbuilding and I’m constantly trying to grow my skills so that I have more to offer my awesome students. I don’t sell work often, as I’m mostly focused on teaching, though I do have a big 9′ long Porcelain chandelier installed in a jewelry store in Madison Ave, if you’re even in NYC. : )

That’s awesome! I’m planning to start an online class for new students in the next month if I can get my act together soon! I am hoping to use the Teachable platform, but am resisting the money it will cost to do so (at110/month~I can’t guarantee that I will have that many students to make it a profitable venture~However, I’m really hoping to start teaching online while COVID continues marching through the ranks…so we
will see how it goes from here. Thanks for touching bases. If you have any ideas for class lessons that you would not mind sharing, I’d be delighted for the feedback. I work mostly handbuilding, so wheelthrown is not an option at this time.) The chandelier sounds awesome btw!
