My Ceramics

In the studio I like to do	Handbuilding, Throwing on the Wheel
Pottery Wheel	Shimpo RK-55
Clay body	Earthenware, Stoneware, Porcelain
Clay Brand	Wittert Stoneware White Clay from Germany
Kiln Type	Electric Kiln
Temperature	950 – 1060 – 1100
Glaze	Love to Pit Fire when I can find the availability to do so. Other wise generally use BOTZ Glases -for simplicity. Currently developing more interest in Glazing now that I have my own Kiln and have more control over what I glaze and to what temperature. Very much trial and error currently.

Introduction	My name is Nicky and I was born in England but have been living in Vienna, Austria for the past 15 years. I am a Hobby ceramist currently hoping to take the plunge soon to sell ceramics professionally.
What I Love about Ceramics	It is a very therapeutic process.
How I started with ceramics	I first developed an interest in Ceramics at School, I went on later to study at university as a BA in ceramics but never followed the path professionally. Instead trained as a goldsmith.
What I'm working on at the moment	Currently working on a collection of Vessels for a Pit firing planned at the beginning of June. Also in the middle of creating my own range of Porcelain fine Jewellery.
