About Me
| Introduction | I love faces and color, and try to make work that is at least a tiny bit useful. (I guess because in the past when ever I wanted to buy a piece of art hubby wanted to know what I was going to DO with it 🙂 ) |
| What I Love about Ceramics | There are so many things to go wrong in ceramics at so many levels, I can’t think why I love it 🙂 I guess all the endless possibilities and ways to explore
|
| How I started with ceramics | I started taking figure sculpting classes back in the 1990’s using earth clay, then made artist dolls with air dry paper clay. While living in Africa ( Namibia) I started a women’s job creation jewelry making project and we made our own ceramic beads. That gave me use of a kiln so I began sculpting with earth clay again and learned the wheel. Forward 20 years , and I am now in the USA with a studio in the basement. |
| What inspires me | Faces, pattern, color, fabrics, other artists |
| What I'm working on at the moment | I get bored easily so I can’t stick to just one thing. Right now I am working on a line of mugs and other containers using oxide decals and Overglaze painting . |
