| Introduction |
I’m Dan/Dani/Danielle. I live in the Cotswolds with my family, in a house that’s sadly too small for me to have a wheel or kiln of my own, so I’m grateful for the support, companionship and facilities provided by the Ceramics Studio in Ettington, Warwickshire. I’m a hand builder, working predominantly in earthenware.

| What I Love about Ceramics |
I simply love creating original, beautiful things from clay. I guess it’s a little like being a god, creating something that only ever existed before inside my head.

| How I started with ceramics |
In 2019 I returned to ceramics after a 35 year break. I did A Level Ceramics back in the 1980s and intended to go to art college, but my life went in a different direction. Now I’m retired and getting the chance to rekindle my love of ceramics. It’s taken me a while to relearn hand building skills (I was never much of a thrower), but I’ve made some beautiful things in the last couple of years and have now started receiving commissions.

| What inspires me |
I’m mostly inspired by nature, plants & European architecture and like to employ underglaze colours to create colourful pieces.

I’m currently completing my final tile in a series of four seasonal scenes of Kew Gardens.
