About Me
| Introduction | My name is Jamie Primeaux. I was raised in the New Orleans area but have lived in SW Louisiana for over 20 years.  I make a variety of pottery but my concentrate on birdfeeders and piggy banks for shows. I’m all about functional pottery!  I love sgraffito, the look and the process.  I’m always open to learning from other potters and hope to get support and inspiration from this group |
| What I Love about Ceramics | I love making pottery. The feel of the clay in my hands is therapeutic and I love the creative process |
| How I started with ceramics | I started in ceramics about 10 years ago. I always wanted to learn pottery but was busy raising kids.  Once they were grown I decided to take a class. I’ve been driving an hour to do this for 10 years and have zero regrets |
| What inspires me | Nature inspires me! Â I love incorporating images of nature into my work. Especially birds, leaves and trees |
| What I'm working on at the moment | Currently I’m making garden bells.  After visiting the pottery community of Seagrove, NC, I’ve also been trying my hand at adding faces to my bells and making face jugs. |
| My Artist Statement | I’ve always been creative and enjoyed art.  My mom was an artist so I was always encouraged to try different mediums.  But clay is my favorite.  When I make something that touches others I’m content. |
