About Me

Introduction

I’m Reggie Pointer Ceramics instructor and studio potter. Interested in working with clay on all levels wheel, hand, & molds.

What I Love about Ceramics

I love the freedom clay affords me in making functional and non-functional things. Clay allows me to play on many levels. From games to music an beyond.

How I started with ceramics

Trained to work with clay at Howard University & Florida State University. I’ve also taken workshops at Penland School of Crafts.

What inspires me

Collaborative work, nature, social issues, and need for that specific vessel to eat or drink from.

What I'm working on at the moment

Drums and whistles.

My Artist Statement

Potter, printmaker, and educator. The two main series I work with involve coming together ( Eye 2 eye, & Face2 face)  and the success or challenges that these endeavors produce.
