About Me
| Introduction | Hi my name is Larissa Taylor. I live in a small country town, Ballan in Victoria, Australia. My parents were potters so I’ve been hand-building for many years. I have recently set up my own studio and returned to my ceramics art practice. I particularly focus on developing a narrative through the  figure. |
| What I Love about Ceramics | I love the tactile surface and the possibilities of telling a story through form. |
| How I started with ceramics | My parents were potters and if we wanted pocket money we needed to make ceramic sculptures to sell in the shop. |
| What inspires me | I am inspired by the beauty and colour in nature and the connection we have with the environment around us. |
| What I'm working on at the moment | At the moment I’m working on a series of childlike figures as I develop a narrative of nostalgia… my childhood memories of interacting with flora and fauna. I am hoping to communicate the innocence within the figures and the animals they are interacting with. Im making these in preparation for an exhibition at the Clad Gallery @bendigopottery |
| My Artist Statement | On this ceramics journey I am hoping to continue to develop my skill and techniques so as to communicate my story with that of the environment around me. |
