About Me

Introduction

My name is Gail Hazlehurst.

I am a retired pottery instructor in Victoria, B.C,, Canada.

Now that I am retired from teaching I am focusing on creating my own abstract wall and vessel sculptures.
using the pinch, coil and slab methods of clay handbuilding.

I am fascinated by abstract clay sculpture.

What I Love about Ceramics

I love everything about Ceramics.

How I started with ceramics

I got started in Ceramics during the completion of my BFA degree at University of Hawaii. It was one of the art courses I took and I fell in love with it immediately and knew instantly that I wanted to specialize in it.

What inspires me

The ocean and nature inspire me the most.

What I'm working on at the moment

I am working on handbuilding boat shaped, abstract vessel sculptures.
