| Introduction |
My name is Katie, I’m an artist from Castlemaine, Victoria. I am interested in art, clay and social practice.
I use ceramic and sculptural methods as a process by which to ‘create’/recreate iconic objects, often working from found two-dimensional images of living things to make an original form. My process often begins with ceramics as a starting point from which to explore responses to the environment in which I find myself, be it in Australia, Canada, Denmark or the United States.

| What inspires me |
I am inspired by my various obsessions with popular culture, iconography and the Australian identity. Music and sport are themes I return to. Recently I have been learning about my son and myself as I broaden my identity and re-ignite my artistic practice after becoming a mum.
In my artwork, I investigate the creation of cultural, national and social identity through the broad use of the narrative.
