About Me
Introduction | Hi, My name is Pelin, from Istanbul, Turkey. I practice sculpture since almost 20 years, and now, I am a new ceramist. I love to experiment. I think ceramic is my remedy for my impatient nature. I learn a lot while working. I still hand build, (no pottery skills yet) and I love making figurines, totems etc. I have to admit, I am not really in “glazing”, prefer unglazed or semi matte surfaces. |
What I Love about Ceramics | What I love is uniqueness. It is your “responsibility” from very fisrt step till the end, and with full of surprises. It is very challenging to create what you have in mind, and requires lots of patience. |
What inspires me | Making people happy, creating a smile on their face is always my dream… So I try to make happy figurines, playful children, colorful pieces. |
What I'm working on at the moment | Totems and figurines. I am mainly in sculpture side… |
My CV | After graduating from MIS, I worked as computer specialist at IBM, then AT&T. Then moved to customer experience area, and after almost 27. years of professional corporate life, I graduated. 🙂 Now, I am full time retiree, busy with bridge, ceramic and sculpture. I participated several exhibitions in Istanbul, Sophia, (Bulgaria), Salonica (Greece) and Napoli (Italy). |
