About Me
| Introduction | Prashant Patel is a Mauritian/British architect designer specialised in luxury retail and a hands-on ceramicist based in London.
After graduating in Bsc and Masters from the Architecture School of Grenoble in France, Prashant had joined Architectural practices in London who helped him carve a pathway into the luxury retail world, at first with supporting fashions houses in opening boutiques within the UK, and later him joining fashion brand’s in-house team as last position acting as Architecture and Design Director @IsabelMarant in Paris, to design and open boutiques worldwide.
In the latter, having been given an open-book to the design on boutique concepts with his team, he felt compelled to reflect the brand’s identity i.e. the Fashion house Artistic Director’s image, whilst making sure to work in strong and close collaboration with vast arrays of amazing creatives and craft-people.
Since this strongly stamped chapter and since 2019, Prashant had been trained as ceramicist in Paris with the guidance of french master ceramicists such as Christophe Bonnard, Gregoire Scalabre, Ana-Belen Castillo and Remi Fontaine, so learn various working techniques and approach with clay. To-date he maintains a close relationship with Christophe, Ana-Belen & Remi.
Since then, he has set-up his ceramic workshop in the London-Surburbs where he currently works and researches on his 2 strong aspirations.
The first is to keep riding the wave on researching the meaning of design through time and materiality with clay with the intention to bring in more materials at a later stage. His current work with clay revolves around finding an unsaid balance of a mass + three-dimentional patterns/pastillage + colour and textured, such as medium & large scale podiums and masks.
The second is to establish and strengthen NamelessLab, a personal aspiration, which is to be a creative+socially responsible organisation where senseful research and collaborative works would take place in between creatives and craftspeople throughout the spectrum of academically educated communities and grassroots/hands-on educated communities, so to forge, evolve and ease access to information, knowledge, network and culture of crafts and it’s people.

| What I Love about Ceramics | Can connect you back with time |
| How I started with ceramics | Prashant worked with ceramic artisans during his chapter as architect and felt connected to the lifestyle of a ceramicist which is not easy by hard as the effort of connecting with a material is self thought. Since then he looked and found a compressed course of 6 months in ceramics. |
