About Me

Introduction

Hi, I’m Sue. I live in Brooklyn. I make a variety of work, both wheel thrown and handbuilt but feel more confident hand-building. I love looking at ceramics. In recent years, almost all the travel I’ve done has been to seek out and learn about ceramics world-wide.

What I Love about Ceramics

I love everything about ceramics. From the tactile to the aesthetics, there’s always something new to learn and engage with. There’s so much to learn and my curiosity is always rewarded.

How I started with ceramics

I did a beginning wheel class around 6 years ago. Because I couldn’t schedule a followup, I decided to take a handbuilding class. That was it for me—I was off to the races.

What inspires me

Nature, other people’s work. Other art forms. Music.

What I'm working on at the moment

Trying to refine my throwing skills and make my work more consistent.
