About Me
| Introduction | My name is Bonny, I am originally from Alaska but have lived in the South for many years due to an aversion to snow. I primarily wheel throw pottery and have a full home studio in the back yard. I make things that can be used, I tend not to do things that are ornamental only. I am constantly trying new things and constantly trying to learn and get better. |
| What I Love about Ceramics | Pottery is my sanity project. I have a nerve and muscle disease and am not good at being retired. Pottery gives me a way to keep my muscles working and keep my sanity. |
| How I started with ceramics | I wanted to do pottery most of my life and could never fit it in with a busy profession. Being retired gave me the perfect opportunity. |
| What inspires me | Everything inspires me, the best part is anything is possible. Even mistakes are inspiring |
| What I'm working on at the moment | I just finished a full bisque kiln and will be deep into scrubbing, smoothing and glazing tomorrow |
| My Artist Statement | My work is all useful items. Cups, bowls, spoon rests, glasses (yes, shot glasses too), bird feeders, bird houses and anything that strikes me. |
| My CV | My highlights come when I donate a big batch of pottery to the Battered Women’s Shelter or the Wounded Veterans home. I don’t have an interest in selling even though I certainly have the equipment and production capability. |
