Introduction |
Hi there! I’m Tanya Imrie (tmi) a queer visual artist based in London Ontario. My storytelling explorations delve into transformation, birth, mental illness and identity. I’m into tackling taboos and celebrating thriving in the midst of the hard stuff.
Clay, to me is the perfect meeting place of art and nature. I’m profoundly excited by glaze chemistry, minerals and oxides, and their delicious behaviours on textured forms. I delve into other art forms too: from bone carving and medieval inspired illumination, to multi-media acrylics, (water-soluble) oil painting, sculpture and assemblage. I love vibrant colour, layers and texture. I’m a bit of a magpie for new ways to covey imagery. I recharge best in nature, hammock camping, Viking hiking and adventuring with my sweet Golden.
I love connecting 1:1 or in small groups.
