About Me
| Introduction | Hi ,
Myself Khushboo Rathi Saraogi. I am an Architect by profession and passion drove me to pottery. Presently pursuing pottery full time and own a studio C.I.C.O in Raipur city. I am interested in and fond of all artistic things. Eager to explore and ready to learn more and more. Also a conscious consumer or atleast trying to bring zero waste philosophy in my daily routine. Thankyou ???????????? And season’s greetings to all ???? |
| What I Love about Ceramics | Journey at our studio with clay starts from the simple excercise in which newbees are asked to take a lump of clay make something out of it and then smash it with thier own hands – it is to make them aware and not be scared of clay and failures involved in the whole process of clay becoming a ceramic. Also it teaches us not to get attached to our pieces ( same goes with life ) Its a long journey and creative field .. but never ending learning process. |
| How I started with ceramics | While persuing my graduation (bachelor’s in Architecture), around mid term, I got infatuated with clay which was also our design medium that time. We were asked to choose a subject in Architecture for our design concepts and ultimately I chose clay as a construction material. Knowing clay more and more brought me to the concept of firing and glazing clay pots, making it tangible to hold and preserve it for ages. Which intrigued me to pottery world |
| What inspires me | The entire process is very therapeutic as it genuinely refreshes your mind and the sense of achievement you get from making something you use out of your hands is really uplifting. Its very encouraging to mold the clay into the shapes you want, to the extent where even failure in doing so is equally motivates you to keep on going until you get it just right. I strive to make pottery that is inspired by the natural world and things around us . All of pottery is handmade from stoneware or Terracotta, and holds up to everyday use. |
