| Introduction |
My name is Susan Harris
i come from Los Angeles , however I now am living in Ojai Ca.
I began throwing in my twenties and did make some small vessels for a couple of years. My instructor was Don Bay. We worked at The Pot Farm in west L.A. I did a bit of hand-building. Fast forward  many years of not working with clay to taking an ongoing sculpting workshop with Jonathan Bickert for a quick year.
Moving to Ojai ,about 10 years back, I took up potting again with Larry Carnes. I then took a few classes and got some great help from Wyn Matthews. I currently work at home and at Ojai Clay Studio with various teachers learning hand-building techniques. Recently I did a Raku evening with Charles McNulty and attempted to make molds with Ari Brice.
I feel as if I’ve only just begun to work with clay. I make little pinch pots , and mistakes, and do slab work, coil work, and small animals etc.
This is my first ceramic congress. I’ve watched tons of instruction on YouTube and watched ‘The Great Pottery Throwdown several times. I give things away rather than sell them.’
