About Me
| Introduction | I’m from Southern California. I have been making functional ceramics for40 years. I teach ceramics for the City of Los Angeles. |
| What I Love about Ceramics | I love that the field of ceramics is so vast. It is one of the most flexible mediums. |
| How I started with ceramics | I took a class at a department of Recreations and Parks near my home when I was 11. Over 40 years later I now run the same department where I started. I teach 6 classes of adult students per week. |
| What inspires me | Im inspired by nature, seeing the work of other artists and just by making. one thing leads to the next. |
| What I'm working on at the moment | I am experimenting with coloring clay and throwing with marbelization. I am also trying new forms like flasks and salt and pepper shakers. |
| My Artist Statement | Above all I am a creator and I feel a great connection to the earth and all forms of animals, but I have a little science geek in me as well. I use artwork including ceramics as an outlet and a form of personal meditation. I am an avid SCUBA diver and I love traveling and being in beautiful outdoor spaces. Walking, exploring, and island hopping around the world inspires me. I like the idea that traditions, artworks, cultures of another country, discoveries underwater or in the field of science can spark new creativity every day.  I love to find creatures, colors and art forms in nature from the very microscopic to the vast and try to incorporate them into the art I create.
