I am currently living out in Rapid City, South Dakota after being a Californian for 40 years-and you wonder why-well out here there is a wonderful opportunity to explore art making that was not as easily available in the Bay Area. I am a graduate of San Jose State University’s art program-where I majored in Studio Arts. I discovered the Industrial Arts building and got literally hooked up with the hand on artists and centered my interests around Weaving. There was a wonderful ceramic department there but I just sorta steered clear…It wasn’t till I came out here that I meet a wonderful group of potters and ceramic sculpture that I dipped my hand in the mud. I still weave but love making my sculptures as well. It is a good life.

My Artist Statement |
Process is the name of my game. I enjoy investigating different medias and incorporating what I learn from one media into another. My portfolio ranges from Figure Drawing in mixed media to tapestry weaving and my last frontier-clay.  Every media has much to teach us about limitations and possibilities. My work now is more 3 dimensional than in the past, as I witness my maturity and confidence as an artist.
