About Me
| Introduction | I am Nadya Anne Mangion, living and creating ceramic hand-built sculptures in Malta. I specialize in raku-fired work, having my own electric and gas kilns at my home studio. I have been exhibiting locally and abroad since 2011. |
| What I Love about Ceramics | Raku is the perfect combination of the four elements earth, fire, air and water; bringing together my scientific background and artistic instinct; transforming clay into artefacts that can be quite organic in form. |
| How I started with ceramics | I have been creating ceramics for the past 17 years. I started out when I took a throwing and turning course organised by our local art college. Coming to clay with a good grounding in drawing, painting and art history, I always felt that something was still missing. The clay medium gave me all the answers. |
| What inspires me | The sea is my main source of inspiration; I can never be too far away from it. |
| What I'm working on at the moment | I am always working and experimenting in increasing my glaze palette. Trying to push boundaries to achieve work that better personifies me. |
