When deciding what art to buy, a collector has many choices to make, not only about the work and the artist, but also how their decisions about the life of the work after purchase can impact the artist, the art market, and institutions.

Jane and Louise Wilson (artists), Deborah Smith (Arts Council Collection), David Roberts (collector), Niru Ratnam (gallerist), and The Art Newspaper’s Louisa Buck will explore how collectors can act in the most ethical fashion when they make their art purchases, developing a set of recommendations that might lead to making the art world a more equitable place.
