cold glazes
I have made a tall vase using nerikomi to color the clay. The photos show the piece leather hard but not fired. Now the he piece has been bisque fired and the contrast between shades of brown has been washed out.. I will glaze the inside so the vessel will be able to hold water. But I want to obtain a semigloss or satin finish to protect the outside and I don’t want to use glaze which I understand can get cloudy. Any recommendations for a cold glaze which will darken the surface? One thing I’ve looked at is Black Diamond Color Enhancer and Sealer. Varnish will yellow. Shoe polish doesn’t seem to be working. Any other ideas? Thanks, Barbara Bejna
